An abstract is an independent text that comprises the most important concepts of the paper, the purpose of the research, the state of the art, what is missing, and the results of the investigation. Here, you will find the main aspects and key concepts of this new genre.

Writing an amazing and very well organized paper doesn´t guarantee that readers will enthusiastically read it. If we really want our work to be taken into account, we should also include a successful abstract. This independent piece of writing is key to catch the readers´ attention and interest and make them feel like go on reading. As important as the paper itself, the abstract will be the "letter of introduction" to our work.
As it is the first time I look into this genre I find this entry really instructive and interesting. Although the material seems to be a little bit repetitive, all the information was clearly developed. Moreover, I consider necessary to consult different sources before creating our own study notes, although I am sure that the greatest challenge will be finally writing an abstract.
